The Light of the World

Follow Christ and you will not walk in darkness...

Welcome once and again brothers and sisters!

It is wonderful to share another day with everyone, and to share today's post (and sermon video).  First let's take a moment to give God glory and thanksgiving, for sending His Son, His only begotten Son...I quote from the Gospel of John " 16 “For God so loved the world,[a] that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. 17 For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him. 18 Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God.". That beloved, is a blessed gift that we don't deserve, but so magnifies how much God loves us and desires that we should repent and believe to be with Him forever.

Our sermon from last Saturday has already been posted on YouTube for a few days now, for those who are subscribed to our channel, you should get notifications each time one gets uploaded if you have that option set.  The verses for the evening were upon John 8:12-20, the very beautiful point of our Lord being the Light of the World.  Pastor Scott takes us deeper into scripture as we look into what Jesus says as He teaches these things amongst the people in the temple.  Let's take a look at the scripture, and you can see the what would have been quite the tense situation between our Lord and the Pharisees (as was usually):

12 Again Jesus spoke to them, saying, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.” 13 So the Pharisees said to him, “You are bearing witness about yourself; your testimony is not true.” 14 Jesus answered, “Even if I do bear witness about myself, my testimony is true, for I know where I came from and where I am going, but you do not know where I come from or where I am going. 15 You judge according to the flesh; I judge no one. 16 Yet even if I do judge, my judgment is true, for it is not I alone who judge, but I and the Father[a] who sent me. 17 In your Law it is written that the testimony of two people is true. 18 I am the one who bears witness about myself, and the Father who sent me bears witness about me.” 19 They said to him therefore, “Where is your Father?” Jesus answered, “You know neither me nor my Father. If you knew me, you would know my Father also.” 20 These words he spoke in the treasury, as he taught in the temple; but no one arrested him, because his hour had not yet come.

There is so much to unpack in here amen?  So please come and watch the sermon for the week, if you missed it or want to touch up on what was gone or...it's always good to be in the Word.  I know that as I write this, I am going to do this myself, as I was out sick last week and unfortunately missed the sermon live!  Thankfully we have wonderful brethren who continued recording for us.  Let's continue working out our salvation in fear in trembling together dear friends.
