About us

Welcome! Let's Meet!
Pastor Scott Thompson has worked as a Volunteer Chaplain inside Alaska’s largest Correctional Facility since the opening of Goose Creek Correctional Center in 2013. During this time he was instrumental in bringing The Urban Ministry Institute (TUMI) into GCCC. The importance of this ministry has taught him that recovery is a process of discipleship and growth in a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
In August of 2019 Scott along with a volunteer staff started FRF Saturday Night. That service has grown into a tremendous outreach into the community of ex-incarcerated as well as the homeless community here in the Matsu Valley.
Faith Recovery Fellowship began in 2015 with that goal in mind. Faith in the Lord Jesus Christ will bring about change and recovery. Recovery is also a process of learning, growing and discipleship in Fellowship with God through His Word, prayer and community with other believers working together to see as many as possible come to a place of sound living from life controlling addictions. We all need to recognize that true spiritual recovery begins at the foot of the cross. Jesus is the only one who brings about real change.
Faith
Faith is the cornerstone of our church. It is part of every activity that we do, every meeting that we hold. We believe in our Lord, and that our actions are a reflection of his goodness.
Scripture
We look to the Lord for guidance in our lives. In Scripture, we find all that we need to guide us in the right path. Reading and understanding Scripture helps us all know our Lord and live for Him.
Community
Join us. We welcome each and every one of you to encounter the Lord's incredible love for us. Inside each of us is a purpose and meaning to be fulfilled by God. He is rich in Mercy!
