We are one in Christ, not one in Paul and one in Peter

Welcome brothers and sisters!

Today is a good day to give God praise, amen?  Let us all take a moment to read Psalm 148 and meditate upon this all throughout our day.

Praise the Name of the Lord

148

Praise the Lord!
Praise the Lord from the heavens;
    praise him in the heights!

Praise him, all his angels;
    praise him, all his hosts!

Praise him, sun and moon,
    praise him, all you shining stars!

Praise him, you highest heavens,
    and you waters above the heavens!

Let them praise the name of the Lord!
    For he commanded and they were created.

And he established them forever and ever;
    he gave a decree, and it shall not pass away.[
a]

Praise the Lord from the earth,
    you great sea creatures and all deeps,

fire and hail, snow and mist,
    stormy wind fulfilling his word!

Mountains and all hills,
    fruit trees and all cedars!
10

Beasts and all livestock,
    creeping things and flying birds!

11

Kings of the earth and all peoples,
    princes and all rulers of the earth!
12

Young men and maidens together,
    old men and children!

13

Let them praise the name of the Lord,
    for his name alone is exalted;
    his majesty is above earth and heaven.
14

He has raised up a horn for his people,
    praise for all his saints,
    for the people of Israel who are near to him.
Praise the Lord!

When we focus on the Lord, and who He is...we will find it much easier to be united in Christ, praising Him as He so deserves.  Remember that it is God who sets the standard for how we praise Him, how we worship Him and how we serve Him.  That takes such a burden off our shoulders, as that good work has already been put in place for us, and His Spirit within us helps us to carry it out day by day!

Our sermon share for this week had unfortunately ran into a small snag, Pastor's Mic was not switched on!  Fortunately the back up mic nearby was able to pick up enough for the sermon to be boosted enough to record and share.  Just as we do in life, we will have hiccups and mistakes, just as we do  in our Christian walk, we will have times where we fall into sin, fortunately Christ is always near that He picks us back up so we can move forward!  Our sermon for the night was continuing from last week in 1st Corinthians, Pastor covered chapter 3 verses 1 through 4 for the night.  This is such an important section to cover too, for we too can find ourselves getting caught up in the very thing the Corinthian church was doing and separating themselves into groups following Paul, Apollos or Peter.  We may find a certain Pastor's way of preaching to be our favored one, and end up following Him rather than following Christ as we should.  Pastor Scott faithfully covers this very thing and encourages us to remember that we are the church, we are one in Christ, and the church is Christ's bride!  It was Christ alone who faithfully fulfilled the whole law, gave His life for His bride and it is Him who we are in and follow, amen?  While we can have an array of favorite preachers and teachers we may listen to, let us always remember that we are united in Christ alone and it is Him who we follow.  He sets the standard for our worship, our walk, our faith...our everything.  He is our all in all beloved!

As we share the sermon today, we encourage you to do the same as well as with many of our other sermons.  We also encourage everyone to check every message, not just with us, but with all sermons, with Scripture.  If what is said does not line up with what God has said in His Word, it's best to steer clear of those very messages.  Beloved family we truly hope to help you in any way that we can in your Christian walk, and encourage you to come to us for anything.  Remember though, your walk is your own, and there is only one person to follow in it...Jesus Christ, the Lord of Glory.  He alone can help us be faithful to God, and we owe Him everything.

He is Worthy!

We hope to see you next week at 7pm Saturday for worship, fellowship and a meal afterward.  Invite your friends, invite your enemies...everyone needs Jesus, everyone needs the Gospel.  Until we meet again, let's go serve our King!
