Build in Christ

Jesus, our Lord, Cornerstone

Welcome brothers and sisters!

We are fast approaching upon resurrection day!  What glorious news that Jesus is risen!  The tomb is empty, He has ascended, proving that He is exactly who He says He is!  As we are midway through what is considered "Holy week", are we living as this week alone is one we should strive to live a holy life?  Or does this week look like others insofar as that we live a holy life unto the Lord in all we do?  Hopefully it's the latter of the two!  It certainly is a struggle we all go through, and the defining factor is a simply one....our foundation.  Is our foundation in Jesus Christ and Him alone?  Are we looking to live a life pleasing to Him in all we do?  Are we conforming our lives to what God has spoken in His Word?  All questions we should definitely work out within us every single day, so that we keep our eyes on Christ alone.

Well brothers and sisters, we hope that everyone enjoyed their time on Saturday night as we worshipped, listened to the Word of God preached faithful and true, and shared a meal in fellowship afterward!  Saturday night, Pastor Scott's sermon was on this very topic, building our lives up in Christ.  It's so easy to veer this way and that to various teachers of the Word, and often get caught up in following the man rather than the very one who the Word is about, our Lord and Savior!  As Pastor Scott takes us through his continuing series in 1st Corinthians, we looked deeper into chapter 3 verses 5 through 11 for the night.  The Apostle Paul had to point out this very thing that was happening in the church in Corinth, they were following Paul, or Apollos or Peter...but he reminds us that they, like us are simply servants, ones who may plant the seed, or water...but only God causes the growth.  Primarily...our focus needs to be on Jesus, for if we build our lives upon anything else other than the foundation that was already laid in Christ, we will get swept away in the rising tide of troubles in our lives.  We highly encourage you to not only watch the sermon from Saturday night, but to always check everything we share with the Word of God.  Let us all be like the noble Bereans who checked the scriptures to make sure what was being preached, matches to what God has spoken in His Word.

We also want to thank everyone who came up to share testimonies of what the Lord is doing in their life, how He has saved them and turned their very lives around for His glory and their good!  We invite everyone to come up and testify of Christ's great work!  We hope you can spend some time with us each Saturday starting at 7pm for worship, fellowship and a meal.  These lives we life for Christ, we are called to live together, as one body and of whom Christ is the head.  Let's also not fall backward into what is often referred to as "CEO's" (Christmas and Easter Only) church attendees.  We are the church, and we gather to worship the Lord, be sharpened by the Word and equipped to take it out with us into this dying world.  It is vastly important we don't give God the least of our time, but the we give Him the most of it...all of it.  So as was started in this post, let us end also with this - In all we do, let us do unto the Lord

We hope to see you this Saturday at 7pm, and let's give God all the glory as we remember what He did for us.  Until we meet again, we love you all and let's go serve our King!
