Mystery of His Will
A mystery revealed in Christ!
Welcome everyone! God is good, He has established the end from the beginning and has revealed His marvelous plan of redemption and reconciliation in Christ Jesus His Son. We encourage you to watch and share last week's sermon on Ephesians 1:9-12, below is a summary of what we studied in depth.
Unveiling the Mystery of God’s Will: A Reflection on Ephesians 1:9-12
In Ephesians 1:9-12, the Apostle Paul reveals a profound truth about God’s divine plan. He writes, “He made known to us the mystery of his will according to his good pleasure, which he purposed in Christ, to be put into effect when the times reach their fulfillment—to bring unity to all things in heaven and on earth under Christ. In Him we were also chosen, having been predestined according to the plan of Him who works out everything in conformity with the purpose of His will, in order that we, who were the first to put our hope in Christ, might be for the praise of His glory.”
This passage highlights several key themes:
The Mystery of God’s Will: Paul speaks of a mystery that has been made known to us. This mystery is God’s plan to unite all things in heaven and on earth under Christ. It is a plan that was hidden for ages but has now been revealed through Jesus.
God’s Good Pleasure and Purpose: The revelation of this mystery is according to God’s good pleasure. It is something He delighted in and purposed in Christ. This shows us that God’s plans are not arbitrary but are rooted in His character and love.
Unity in Christ: The ultimate goal of God’s plan is to bring unity to all things. This includes both the spiritual and physical realms, highlighting the comprehensive nature of God’s redemptive work.
Predestination and Purpose: Paul also touches on the concept of predestination, indicating that believers are chosen according to God’s plan. This choice is not random but is part of a larger purpose that God is working out in conformity with His will.
Praise of His Glory: Finally, the passage emphasizes that the ultimate aim of God’s plan is the praise of His glory. Our hope in Christ and our inclusion in God’s plan are meant to bring glory to Him.
In reflecting on these verses, we are reminded of the grandeur of God’s plan and our place within it. We are part of a divine narrative that spans eternity, chosen and loved by God to be part of His redemptive work. This should inspire us to live lives that reflect His glory and to share the hope we have in Christ with others.
We hope to see you next week all starting at 7pm for worship, fellowship and a meal afterward.
Until we meet again, lets go serve our King!
