The Last Supper

Let's share communion together!

Brothers and Sisters, welcome!

"Today is the day that the Lord has made, let us rejoice and be glad in it!" - Psalm 118:24

This is something that we should never forget and always begin our day with, giving thanks to God.  Remember, He is God, He has existed in perfect union for all eternity and has need of nothing...yet He loves us, and has created us to know Him, have an intimate relationship with Him, to worship Him and tell everyone His Gospel!  God in all His divine wisdom, has set forth before the foundation of the world, to enter into His creation in the person of Jesus Christ to live the life we cannot and provide the sacrifice for our sin.  Believe in Jesus, put your trust and your faith in Him...this means more than a simple acknowledgement of who He is...but obeying his very commandments.  We keep His commandments because we love Him, not for righteousness, for He is our righteousness alone.

Saturday night came and this particular type of evening is very special, as we came together to share in communion.  We remember why the Lord Jesus came, what He said to His disciples the night of the Last Supper, and we do the very same in remembrance.  It's a very serious thing as well, one that the Apostle Paul clearly lays out for us in 1st Corinthians 11:17-34, so that we do not sin against the Lord when we take in the bread and wine (grape juice for us).  Pastor Scott so wonderfully exposits this passage of scripture for us in this sermon, to really help us be reminded of why we do this and how it's to be done...being sure to examine ourselves before taking part in communion.  We must be sure that we are truly in the faith, not harboring unconfessed sin, nor walking in a life of sin rather than a life of righteousness.  We truly encourage you to watch this sermon, as well as our others we have here on our website and YouTube channel.  Being a Christian is far more than going to church 1 day a week, or saying a prayer here and there, it's being in the Word of God day in and day out, always seeking to be closer to the very one who created us and saved us for Himself.  How else can we know God, if we can't be bothered to read the very words He has given us that tell us everything we need to know about Him and to know Him? Remember too that we are sinners, so we are inevitably going to sin...it's in our very nature, but we also have Jesus Christ who saves us, cleanses us and presents us as Holy before the Father in Heaven.  We also have the Holy Spirit who dwells within us to convict us, and help us to live a life after Christ, rather than sin.  In this life on earth, we don't became sinless...we begin to sin less and less until we are called to be with the Lord.  So never forget we have a mediator between us and God, and He will lift us back up, and we must get back up and move forward.

So with that said, in all of that, there is SO much joy to be found in the Lord and SO much freedom than ever before.  Before we became believers, we were free to "pick our poison" as you will, in otherwords, we could choose to sin this way or that way.  Now after knowing Christ, we can choose righteousness instead of choosing to sin!  We can choose what is right instead of being a slave to what is wrong!  A world of freedom beyond what our mind can fathom, filled with love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, gentleness, faithfulness and self control, there is no law against these very things! (Fruit of the Spirit)

We hope to see you each week at 7pm on Saturdays for fellowship, worship, and a meal afterward.  We have bible studies during the week, and other services available to help you in your walk with Christ.  Visit us online to see more about these very things! :)

Until we meet again, let's go serve our King!
