Our Great High Priest

Come boldly before the throne of grace!

Welcome brothers and sisters!

A glorious day indeed, for it is one in which we breathe, that we may sing forever to God that He is worthy of all Praise!

We most certainly had a wonderful worship service Saturday night, great testimonies and Pastor Scott took us through Hebrews 4:14-16.  That passage is one of those most reassuring in the bible!  Not only does it highlight that Christ fulfills every position we could hope for, but that in being tried and tempted in every way, He knows our weaknesses thoroughly to help us in our time of need!  Being able to share the Gospel with everyone is a blessing we shouldn't take for granted, passages such as these should help us whenever we may think such things as "nobody understands what I'm going through".  Our Lord does indeed know us, understand us and provides the greatest of strength and courage to help us walk faithfully with Him.  We greatly encourage everyone to visit us to worship in person, testify about Christ's saving work in your life as well as share a meal of fellowship afterward!  We also encourage you to watch our sermons each week, and they are now being played on various radio stations!  We also have our sermons changed into simple MP3 format without any music intro's so you can grab them for on the go if you would like.  Below is a summary from Saturday night, and as always we encourage you to check everything according to scripture.  We pray that you continue building up, and building each other up in your most holy faith!  Sources for today's summary\synopsis on Hebrews 4:14-16 are www.biblegateway.com, www.biblestudytools.com, Microsoft Bing and of course the number one source is the Bible!

Hebrews 4:14-16 tells us that we have a great high priest, Jesus Christ, who has ascended into heaven and who can sympathize with our weaknesses. He was tempted in every way as we are, yet He did not sin. Therefore, we can approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.

This means that:

  1. Jesus is our mediator between God and us. He offered Himself as the perfect sacrifice for our sins and intercedes for us in heaven.
  2. Jesus understands us perfectly. He knows our struggles, feelings, thoughts, and needs. He is compassionate and merciful toward us.
  3. We have access to God’s presence and favor through Jesus Christ. We do not have to fear God’s wrath or rejection because of our sins. We do not have to rely on our own merits or works to earn God’s approval or blessing.
  4. We can come to God as we are, with honesty, humility, boldness, assurance, joy, and gratitude.
  5. We can receive God’s forgiveness and restoration when we confess our sins, living a repentant life. We can also receive God’s strength and wisdom when we face difficulties and challenges.

We have a great high priest who invites us to come to Him at all times. Let us hold firmly to the faith we profess. Let us approach God’s throne of grace with confidence. Let us receive His mercy and find His grace in our time of need.  Let us live our lives in such a way that honors God and shines our light upon Him.

We pray we see you next week brothers and sisters, be sure to contact us for anything we may be able to help with in your Christian walk.  Don't forget to revisit our sermons at any time as well, it is always good to hear and obey the word of God.  We love you all and...

Until we meet again, let's go serve our King!
